LIPSCOMB PEACE PANTRY

What is the Peace Pantry?

The Lipscomb community came together in early 2019 to open a food pantry within our school to serve our students and their families. Even during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we were still able to distribute Lion Packs to about 30 students each week. On average, both before the pandemic and since, at least 55 students received a backpack of food every Friday.

These Lion Packs are designed to help get families through the weekend when the children are not eating at school, and they include a variety of snacks, pantry items, and a simple meal. Volunteers and donors from our school, community, and neighborhood work together to provide this meal support to our Lipscomb Lion families who may be experiencing food-insecurity.

How can I sign my child up for a Lion Pack?

If you are a family in need of additional food support, we will start enrollment the first week of school up through September 1st. The first Packs will be distributed September 8th. You can sign up any time after that as well, but the earlier the better! NEW THIS YEAR: If your child was signed up last school year, he or she will be automatically re-enrolled. Each child that signs up will receive a pack, not just each family!
